Hi my friends! Just to give you a quick update. Things are still going great. I'm loving my life and my job, wish you could be with me! Here's a fun video that recaps my stay in Boston and New Hampshire. You get to enjoy a bit of the show without the crazy heat and humidity on the east coast! At least the humidity is great for the voice :)

The Tour Continues!

Our last leg of the tour began in Chicago, which was particularly cool because I got to see my Aunt who I've not seen in 5+ years. She lives in Antigua Island but happened to be visiting her son who lives in Chicago when I got to town. With luck the tour will go to Antigua and I'll get to see her again!

I also got a chance to visit with my friend Shon and his daughter Kyla who live in Chicago, and on my day off we went to see Ziggy Marley perform. After growing up in the Caribbean performing Bob Marley's music I jumped at the chance to see his son. It was a very positive and spiritual experience – you'd think I'd been to church – but this was just a small club filled with good vibrations!

While we were in Chicago we played a gig with Richard Marx. Joe Walsh had played on one of his songs a bunch of years ago, and they'd never played it live together until now which was fun. (We were actually doing a fund raising event where Joe Walsh was endorsing Joe Walsh's opponent in a congressional race. I know that sounds confusing but "The real Joe Walsh" musician is supporting Tammy Duckworth who is running against Joe Walsh the Congressman.)

But back to the concert… my favorite song of Richard Marx was "Right Here Waiting" here it is on YouTube from 1989 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_uWhR53ys4&feature=related – you got to love his 80's hair style! I hope I don't look back in 30 years in horror at what I've been wearing and looking like… yikes!

So I've just had a few days back in Santa Barbara to rest. I've kept a low profile and I'm sorry if I didn't get to see all my friends in town, but I'll be back on the road on Friday for 5 weeks hitting South Dakota, Massachusets, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, and much more! I'll try to send some pics from the road.

As you may have heard, I'm now touring singing back up for Joe Walsh and It's been so much fun!! :) In the past month we've done shows at festivals, the ampithearter at the Ohio zoo, played on TV for Good Morning America and in Nashville for the Country Music Television show Crossroads with Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, Kenny Chesney and more (You can see the show on CMT Saturday 6—- at —)

His fans are so loyal, they literally know the lyrics of every song. We're doing songs from his past with the James Gang (Walk Away and Funk#49), The Eagles (Life in the Fast Lane and In the City), his previous solo albums (Rocky Mountain Way, Life's Been Good to Me So Far) and his first new album in 20 years "Analog Man".

But beyond that, what's really great is working (and having a blast) with Joe, his wife Marjorie, the band and crew even when we're stuck on planes or tour buses for hours.

The rehearsals for the tour were even fun. Sometimes we'd just sit around with Joe playing the guitar on the couch while Leslie, Ricky and I practiced blending our harmonies.

I'm now getting to write this that we're back from our latest trip to New York City. I've had a few days off – though I've kept busy and will be singing at the Solstice Festival tomorrow night Friday 6-22-12 at 7:30.

I'll try to post more often as our tour continues. Soon we'll be on the road again and in the first two weeks of July we'll be in: Illinois (2 shows), Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Kansas and Iowa (2 shows) – Yay! Visiting CIMWI ;-)

Come Support an AMAZING organization! (And of course eat, drink and dance too!)

I'm so excited to tell you about my visit to the Channel Island Marine and Wildlife Institute – it was incredible!

It's wonderful to see how just a few dedicated people can do so much good! But I'm kind of getting ahead of myself, so let me start from the beginning.

I got a phone call from Ruth asking if my brothers and I would be willing to help with a fund raising event for the Marine and Wildlife Institute. I didn't know anything about them, but they invited me out to see what they are doing – and boy did I learn a lot!

CIMWI is the only organization in Ventura County that is authorized to respond to and rehabilitate sea lions, seals, dolphins, porpoises, and whales. Without their dedication many animals wouldn't get the emergency care they need.

When I arrived at the center I learned they had two sea lions they were rehabbing for release back into the ocean. As soon as I saw them they had my heart – they were adorable!

Ruth explained that the volunteers at CIMWI make every effort to not get attached to the animals – so the animals won't get attached to them. I know I'd never learn to do that! :-) They were so sweet and looked at us with such big beautiful eyes I wanted to hug them!

The smaller one, a female, was less than a year old and had been found stranded and malnourished. Ideally CIMWI tries not to take animals out of their habitat (see the notes below to learn what to do if you find a stranded sea animal) but this poor girl needed some help so they've been nursing her back to strength.

The male was much bigger and had been trapped with fishing line wrapped around it's neck cutting deep into it's skin. The volunteers had been able to remove the fishing line, clean up the wound, and were now giving the sea lion medicine and LOTS of fish to get it ready for re-release.

They've had as many as 11 animals in for rehab at one time, and believe me this is a labor of love for the two founders, Ruth and Sam Dover, who dedicate their time, money, and creativity to create this amazing organization. And they've enlisted many friends, donors and volunteers to make it a success!

I could go on forever telling you about all the work they are putting into this wonderful project, and what fun I had seeing just a tiny sample of the results of their work (both sea lions will be released back to the wild this weekend!). Come visit us at Oreana this Saturday 4/21 from 7 to 10pm. There will be food, wine, silent auction, and of course music :-) and all the proceeds are much needed and go to support this wonderful organization – you can't imagine how much fish a sea lion eats!

Goodbye Whitney Huston!

I first heard about Whitney Huston when I was living in Barbados, I was 11yrs old and the CEO of a record company handed me her cassette tape and said you will sing like her someday. As you can imagine, that stuck with me. After moving to America many years later, while camping with my family and friends, I heard “I will always love you” on the radio and was so moved. As an experiment for myself, to see if I could sing it, I sang it out loud in the campground shower. When I finished a lady walked in and said can you do that again? You have an audience outside : ) Since then I’ve sung it countless times and always feel the love people have for her whenever I sing it.

Whitney has been an inspiration for me and she will be missed always. I will continue to keep her spirit alive through her songs.

To me she was and is the BEST.

I’m writing as I listen to music by Mishal Moore. I met her a while back when I was in DC with 40 other amazing youtube singers whom all sang on the Lisa Lavie, YouTube HIT Video of “We are the world” .

Mishal is not only a beautiful, talented, and amazing performer, she also so nice : -) Her voice is soulful, and timeless, I could listen to her all day long… so refreshing.

I loved hanging with her and getting to know her music thru youtube. I hope to collaborate with her very soon.

At the NAMM SHOW with Kenny Loggins

At the NAMM show with Kenny Loggins

This was my 2nd trip to the NAMM show and it was so much fun. I rode from Santa Barbara down to LA with Kenny and Jesse Siebenberg and we listened to music all the way down. We listened to rough mixes of Kenny's new album that he's working on and it sounds great :)

When we got there the place was packed, but we got the whole star treatment going in a back entrance while the coolest driver Jonathan parked the car. :)

We were guests of guitar and clothing manufacturers "Two Old Hippies / Bedell Guitars" who I'd met last time I went to NAMM. They've been so great and have sent me a ton of clothing and jewelry, so of course I wanted to wear some of it today.

After Kenny introduced the Bedell Guitar that he designed with them, he did an autograph session and we then did an impromptu concert with Kenny, Rick Cowling and myself. There was no stage, just 3 stools and a crowd of people around us. A local TV station was filming it so please let me know if you see it on the news :)

I handed my phone to someone to shoot some videos of us and have posted a couple on YouTube. It was kind of crowded so the shots are a bit tight but you can hear us doing Kenny's Winnie the Poo Song, and me singing Natural Woman and Aint No Mountain High Enough with Rick who's an amazing guitar and vocalist and my new friend. Of course Foot Loose.

I always enjoy singing with Kenny – so this was a nice surprise. I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I did singing! :)

NEW YEARS EVE 2011:)

Where to start?….. It was the best New Years Eve party I've performed at in a long long time:) We were at the best spot in Santa Barbara Soho music club. Gail Hansen, thank you for making your restaurant available, the food was amazing. Huge hugs and love for you my friend.

I felt like I knew everyone in the audience personally. I am so glad that I got a chance to bring in the new year with my friends/family in the "MidnightBand" you are so loved! Everyone on stage had a blast!! Kenny Loggins, you are the best my friend love you!! Thank you so much for your love and support. Dion Mial, Chaz Thompson, Morganfield Bernet, RoseMary Butler, Mike Stern, Leslie Lembo, Thank you for blessing us with your voices and your presence!

Hello again:-)

Well, what can I say, it was a blast!! It felt like a summer night at the Brew House…. sooo hot!!:) Before Georgetown came on My brother William has a school named santa barbara youth music academy (SBYMA) and his band called "Cut Time" was rocking the jazz/R&B grooves and keeping everyone happy:) I was suppose to be a white swan, but I got called an angel all night:) that's ok, I don't mind. My Friend and makeup artist Romina www.rominamurillo.com thank you so much for doing a excellent job on my makeup… you're the best my friend:-)

The enrgy was so high and everyone was so happy, thanks to all of you for being so supportive:)

B.B. King’s Concert:)

I just came back from the bb king concert at the granada. It felt like I was watching a piece of history. He's 86 and still going strong – and obviously still loves the ladies :)

I loved the way he communicated with the audience, it was like he was just hanging with his buddies and chatting. I loved it. We were 5 rows from the stage and seeing his facial expressions while he played was priceless!

It's wonderful to see someone with such talent and so much experience, I always learn something from them.

Thanks for the Christmas present from my best buddy Christineee:)
